Ellie Takes Some Family Pictures

First Day of School

Ellie started preschool on Tuesday. The first day was just a half-day, and a parent was supposed to be there the entire time, so Donovan decided he would go with her. She was pretty excited!

2 Months!!

Say what?! Ahri is already two months old -- freaks me out! She is such a little doll, so adorable. She exudes sweetness and I just want to gobble her up! (And I'm not alone -- we ALL want to!) She is a wonderful sleeper -- most nights she sleeps all night long, letting her mama sleep ;-). She found her voice a few weeks ago, and it is the most beautiful, precious sound ever. I love it when she talks and smiles -- we have some in-depth conversations, and she is so very passionate about what she talks about!

She is really starting to enjoy playing with rattles, she like to bat at things, and she is super quick to follow things moving around her. Ahri LOVES to be touched -- absolutely loves it. I give her a nightly massage and she just can't help but smiling and cooing during it (even though I usually give it to her right in the throes of her fussy time). She especially likes her hands and feet to be touched/rubbed. (I totally understand, I love it too.)

Ahri loves to smile -- she's been smiling literally since the day she was born. She hands them out so quickly; usually all it takes is looking her in the eyes, or smiling at her, or talking to her, or touching her, or a kiss. Sometimes she just smiles, just because! She is growing so well. At her check up a few days ago she weighed 11 lbs. 11 oz. and was 22.5 inches long! Wow!

We all thoroughly enjoy having Ahri as part of our family; she is such a blessing and brings so much love, joy and light into our home.

Smiling Ahri

Our solution to a boring day? Make a chocoloate, chocolate chip UN-birthday cake and have an UN-birthday party! Sure made the afternoon more fun!

Camping

We had originally planned on going to Yellowstone for the weekend. The thought of spending a LONG drive there, and lots of car time once we got there, with two toddlers and a baby just wasn't doing it for me. We decided just to go camping close to home instead.

Donovan's delicious dutch oven dinner...mmmm...SO yummy. Good thing he is a master fire-starter since it poured rain ALL day!!

We camped in the Uintas:

So pretty! We camped right by several raspberry bushes that were full of yummy raspberries!

It was SOOOOO cold! When we arrived at our campsite in the afternoon, it was only 38 degrees!! We weren't quite prepared for the freaky cold day in August!

The following day was beautiful, sunny and warm. Just perfect for some exploring.

Ahri LOVES to be outside, especially in the mountains!
